I am just one of the many people who believe that this is one of the greatest TV show

intros in the history of TV shows.

The way that Rod Roddy announces his name, the way the crowd

goes wild as soon as the curtains open, the way he walks onto the stage with a certain level of

swagger, and then the camera cuts to a shot behind him of the lights that gleam down on the stage

and into the crowd. It pans downward to watch him as he's standing there from behind,

and one of the Barker beauties hands him, his microphone, and the show begins. I'm Doc, and welcome

to a bonus edition of the Oddcast. Of course, the title gives it away. We're addressing the

fact that Bob Barker, who is the host of The Pricers Right for three and a half decades, has passed

away at the age of 99.

This is a bonus episode. It's not going to be a full-length oddcast episode, but wanted to give you a

little bit of something in regard to this news, because as of the recording of this episode,

the Boba Sherry show is on vacation for the next couple of days. So Boba Sherry, they're not

going to be able to give an

immediate reaction to the passing of Bob Barker. And I just so happen to be around and catch

the news as soon as it broke. And honestly, as a millennial, I am one of those generations of people

who grew up with the Price is Right. During my formative years, the peak years of TV in the

90s, the Price is Right was a big deal. It is one of those TV shows that sticks with you. And looking
