I just have the honor of moderating at the ACLU's National Conference in Washington, DC

earlier this week.

As you know, we've been widening the lens of the show to occasionally discuss the troubling

erosion of and threats to the rule of law writ large in the age of Trump and to courts

and lawyers in the age of Trump.

And this discussion features some of really the very best legal minds in America examining

just that question.

And when I say very best legal minds, I'm really not kidding around.

The panel included prominent constitutional law expert veteran of many Supreme Court

oral arguments and the National Legal Director of the ACLU, David Cole, former acting assistant

Attorney General and head of the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department and current

president and CEO of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, Vanita Gupta,

prominent law professor at the University of Minnesota and former chief ethics lawyer

in the White House of George W. Bush, Richard Painter, you may remember him from our emoluments

conversations.

And finally, the experienced litigator and federal prosecutor, former U.S. Attorney for

the Northern District of Alabama and current distinguished visiting lecturer in law at

the University of Alabama, Joyce White, Vanita.
