Yes, the Commonwealth currently suffers from one of the worst housing shortages the modern

world has ever seen.

This problem includes rates of homeownership that have taken a nose dive, rental vacancies

that are rarer than snow in the outback, housing costs that seem almost inhumane, and a rising

homelessness rate that feels more, well, LA than Adelaide.

Early at this point, the land down under seems more like someone who just got told,

that's not a knife, this is a knife, and then the knife is pointed right at them. Like most problems in history, though, this one can't be blamed on one simple reason. Instead, it's

wrapped in layers of political gridlock, laws that set the stage for the situation to occur in

the first place, and even some good old-fashioned racial
