Well, this is a special edition of Job with Julie, not your normal episode. We just thought we'd drop in on your podcast feed and talk to you a little bit about authentic intimacy. Give you an update. Maybe you're not real familiar with the ministry, but... Or maybe you are. Maybe you've been hanging out with us for four years. Yeah. It will apply to all of you. It will. Yeah. So I'm Julie Slattery and Hannah Nitz. You are with me? Yes. And I'm happy to be here. I'm always happy that you're here. I know. It's fun. I'm in town here in Colorado. I live in Ohio, but I love when I get to come here and hang out and just be near you, Julie. Oh, and drink coffee together. We are drinking coffee together. Uh-huh. So Julie, four years ago, no, five years ago. Five years ago. Authent intimacy began. Mm-hmm. And for some of our listeners, they've been through all the years and ups and downs and changes and new things with authentic intimacy.

When, if someone comes up to you, if you were to bump into one of our listeners or you were to see someone and they'd be like, hey, Julie, what's new?

What's going on with authentic intimacy recently?

Yeah.

How would you answer that?

Oh, I would just say it's been quite a journey.

And the crazy thing is, what's my face doing? I don't know if that's good or bad. Your face is like, I don't know how to say this. Yeah, well, you know, here's the really crazy thing. And I love just being transparent and honest with, let it out there. Yeah, Like what we've been through and what God's doing.

Yeah, here we go.

I need another swig of coffee for this.

But, you know, we always think of ministries growing in terms of increased budgets, increased

giving, increased activity.

You know, let's add people to staff.

And in October of last year, the Lord just brought our ministry to a place where we were

growing in outreach, but we're experiencing some pretty significant growing pains.

Yeah, it was kind of like a screeching halt in October 2016.

Yeah, and some of it was just financial problems.

Like I just couldn't figure out how to make payroll, and I was getting to the point where

I was constantly under financial pressure instead of feeling freedom in terms of where

is God leading the ministry. And a couple of

you, including you, Hannah, you were one of them, sequestered me. And yeah, isn't that a good word?

One of our board members and essentially said, we've got to make a huge shift in what you're doing.
