A monster game, with 38 points, 16 rebounds and four blocked shots as the Lakers overcame a double-digit second quarter deficit to beat Detroit 128-121 Friday at the Crypt. Davis was undoubtedly the catalyst for L.A., but he had help. Six Lakers scored in double figures, including Austin Reaves, who finished with 16/4/6, and led the Lakers with a +14 plus/minus. Lonnie Walker IV and Kendrick Nunn kicked in with some scoring, Thomas Bryant had a successful season debut, and Russell Westbrook, while not exactly the picture of efficiency as a scorer, finished with 12 dimes (10 in the first half). Was it perfect? Oh Lord, no. The Lakers were sloppy with the ball, turning it over 16 times in the first three quarters. The defense, particularly early, was... lax. But if they want to climb out of the hole they've dug, the Lakers need to beat the bad teams. Detroit is bad, and the Lakers got the win they needed. Now, they need another Sunday vs. San Antonio.
