Hello and welcome to a special bonus episode of Hey Do You Remember?

Now, obviously, this is a pretty severe break from our formula.

As a general rule, we tend to pick movies that are at least 15 years old.

And in the case of Rogue One, it was more like 15 hours old at the time we recorded this.

But Carlos, Kristen, and myself, we just really wanted to talk about it.

We just wrapped up recording the previous episode, and we thought, why not?

We're going to spend the next hour and change talking about it anyways.

Let's just turn the mics back on, see how it goes.

So this is completely unplanned.

It came together in about 15 seconds, so it's more of a first reaction, straightforward

analysis than our usual silliness. And I wasn't even sure I wanted to put this out because it felt

so off-brand for us. But we've talked about giving you guys more bonus content that isn't

strictly tied into what we normally do. So this was a good way to

test those waters a little bit. And the other thing is, as Kristen points out in this episode,

Star Wars, in and of itself, is very nostalgic. And one of the things we discussed was how

differently Rogue One and the Force Awakens exploited that nostalgia. And I know exploit,

it sounds like a dirty word, but that's not how I mean it.

It's just, it's the fact of the matter.

And it's not just Star Wars, right?

Like, this is true of most of the big franchises. So if you guys are receptive to this, we might do more of this sort of thing moving forward.

And finally, I also asked you guys what you thought of Rogue One on our Facebook page, and I had to do it in a way where I didn't spoil the surprise.
