One of the three interviews in that show was my conversation with Larry Krasner, the left-wing civil rights lawyer who won the Philadelphia Democratic primary for district attorney and is all but certain to win the general election.

It's always good to hear from you.

So when we first met many years back, you were one of Philadelphia's most tenacious civil rights and defense lawyers.

And I was a reporter at the now, sadly, defunct Philadelphia City paper.

It was 2013, if I remember correctly, and I was writing a story about a client of yours, Esquia Sabour, who had the crap viciously beaten out of him by police on a West Philadelphia sidewalk

on video for no good reason and was then charged with assaulting the cops who beat him up.

And prosecutors were rolling with it, even though it was

based on obvious police lies. Now, at this point in time in 2013, did you ever think that you

might one day become district attorney in Philadelphia? No. It was not that I was disinterested.
