I'm going to be here. In the summer of 1973, some Renegade independent filmmakers and a group of unknown actors

brave the brutal Texas Heat to create one of the most disturbing and terrifying

films ever made, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Although portrayed on film is a true story, it's largely fictional, but there's no question that it was inspired by real life.

The horrifying house, the furniture made from human bones and flesh the brutal killer with a mask made

from a woman's face it all seems too unbelievable to be true and yet all of it was

torn from the pages of Wisconsin newspapers from the late 1950s.

That was when a very strange little man named Ed Gein had been arrested in the small town of Plainfield.

When the police raided his farm, they discovered what would someday inspire props for a horror film.

Like lampshades made from skin soup bowls crafted from human skulls and

women hanging on meat hooks and that wasn't all the real life crimes of Eddie

Gien were even more twisted than those of the cannibals in the film.
