Hi everyone in this special bonus episode of evidence-based birth podcast we're going to talk about what it was like to do a photo shoot with a bunch of babies for a book cover.

So if you missed any of our bonus episodes last two Fridays, I made

the announcement that I have written a book called Babies Are Not Pizza's and it comes out

in August 2019.

We picked out this book title last summer

and we decided to go ahead and set up a photo shoot

because what we really envisioned

were a bunch of babies with pizza boxes on the cover and if you go to stock

photography websites and you search for pictures of babies you are never going

to find pictures of babies sitting in pizza boxes. That's just a pretty unique phrase. So we got a

couple of quotes from some different photographers in the area where I live and we

ended up choosing the Malachots. They're a married couple who do photo shoots

together and they said that they would get the models for us so we told them that we were

looking for a diverse group of babies representing different

ethnicities and skin colors and they said okay and so they recruited the

models the babies who are going to be the models and we were looking for babies

who were like kind of crawling age and they said we would do the photo shoot at their studio. I can't

remember exactly what time the photo shoot was going to start I think it was

like 10 30 or something like that and I thought well I don't have to be early I'll

just get there right at 1030. Well like that and I thought well I don't have to be early I'll just get there

at 1030 well I got there at 1030 and of course all the parents were so excited

that their babies were models that they got them all there really early so they
