Recently, I sat down with a few of my fellow conference faculty members to chat about the writing industry,

the process of writing, writers' conferences, and the writing life. Here's my conversation with Jim Rubart. So I've known James

Rubart for a number of years. We both served as faculty members at a particular writer's conference,

and I've since had Jim on the show many times to talk about his incredible novels. I consider him

a friend and a dear brother, and he's really a favorite of ours, so we're so grateful that he's

returning again to this year.

It is so good to talk to you. It's been way too long, I have to say.

It has been way too long. I've got to get you back on the live show for sure. So tell me this. Is there a passage

of scripture you've been thinking about these days you can share with us? Yeah, actually there is.

And you know, it's funny, Susie, because I go back 10 years, I had all these complex, you know,

intellectual, theological, deep thoughts. And right now I'll tell you that the verses I have

been dwelling and dwelling and dwelling on are love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength.

And love your neighbor as yourself.

And we hear those verses, but I have to tell you, I am just, I am trying to figure out daily how do I surrender and love the Lord more?
