0:32.2	Bill Belichick of it all. I think that's where a lot of people thought that maybe this hiring
0:36.2	process was going.
0:40.4	So why not Bill Belichick in this situation?
0:46.6	Well, you heard a lot of buzz about maybe there being a split in terms of the Falcons organization,
0:51.5	the people at the top, owner Arthur Blank, leaning heavily on Bill Belichick.
0:54.9	I think he wanted sort of that relevancy that Bill Belichick would bring. The Falcons have had six straight losing seasons. And I think Arthur Blank is
1:01.3	sort of desperate for the team to snap that. They haven't had six straight losing seasons since
1:05.6	the 1980s. And the longest amount of time that they've had consecutive losing seasons since Blank purchased the team in the early 2000s was just three years.
1:15.5	And so Bill Belichick being one of the NFL's winning his coaches ever, certainly would give you that sort of credibility if you're trying to snap that streak.
1:24.9	But I think ultimately with the Falcons, Bill Belichick wasn't a right fit for
1:28.9	the Atlanta Falcons. You know, the way that he has done things in New England isn't really the way
1:33.4	that the Falcons do things from a culture standpoint. It's hard to imagine Bill Belichick fitting
1:39.3	into the city of Atlanta, you know, when you think about those things. And I think you're looking at a team
1:45.4	that feels like they're right on the cusp, right? I think that's a big reason why they
1:49.3	moved on from Arthur Smith because they felt like, okay, this was supposed to be a season
1:53.8	where the Falcons could be a playoff team. And they just couldn't get over that hump. And
1:58.4	it's not because they're broken or they have to completely revamp
