So a decade ago we shifted our attention at work every three minutes.

Now we do it every 45 seconds and we do it all day long.

The average person checks email 74 times.

Holy crap you guys, I did a TED Talk and they put it out into the world this week.

That was a clip of me on the main stage in Vancouver.

I'm a new summer Odie and you know what my note to self was while I was up there?

Don't throw up.

I realized that I was never bored.

And anyway, don't only boring people get bored.

But then I started to wonder what actually happens to us when we get bored or more importantly,

what happens to us if we never get bored?

Today, just a quick update on what the team and I are cooking here at note to self and how it involves you.

But first, can I just vents a little more?

Being asked to do a TED Talk was a huge honor.

Yes, but no joke.

It was one of the most nerve-wracking experiences I've ever had.

Of course, when I was up there, I talked about how boredom can ignite original thinking and how we need to change our digital habits.

To find that boredom, that is what my upcoming book, Board and Brilliant is about to.

And it all goes back to that project that tens of thousands of you did with me in 2015, the Board and Brilliant project.

So my TED Talk features a lot of your voices, because that's what we do here.

I feel a little bit crazy because I have noticed that I pick up my phone when I'm just walking from one room to another.

And afterwards, so many folks from the audience, yes, some of them famous, came up to me and said that they'd never heard anything like it.
