| 0:28.0 | Sean thank you I appreciate it all right so how did you become an entrepreneur you know you have two different roads you can go down and how did you end up on this one. |
| 0:36.8 | Yeah good question so I always knew that I didn't like people telling me what to do and I when I was in college I all my friends junior senior year they were looking at how do I get a six figure salary. |
| 0:53.8 | And I knew that they would be selling their souls 100 hours a week spending the next three years climbing that ladder. |
| 1:00.2 | And I just knew it wasn't it wasn't for me so I did end up taking a job for about a year and a half after college but I always had that itch to go off on my own. |
| 1:11.4 | And so after a year and a half of working at that job I unfortunately had some things happen where I lost people close to me. |
| 1:20.1 | Mentor at a very young age as well as my grandpa and I just was like look I'm on a timeline and I'm not going to keep trading my early 20s for a paycheck so you're in a half in March 25th 2016 was my last day as an employee. |
| 1:38.5 | All right so tell me what was the first was this the first company you started or what was your first company because if it's your first one you're you're in rarefied air but it might be and you hit it gold but kind of take me to where we got to different hunger. |
| 1:54.8 | Yeah so while I was working that job I was you know again I had that itch to work for myself. |
| 2:07.2 | I ended up putting out a listing on Craigslist for an intern and one thing led to another but that intern became a business partner and we launched the digital agency. |
| 2:18.8 | So that was our first my first business and six months later we were you know fighting with lawyers and dealing with potential lawsuits and all that fun stuff. |
| 2:30.8 | So that was the first business and what was and when you say it was a digital agency give us take us on the 12 year old tell me what that means. |
| 2:40.4 | Yeah well basically we knew that digital agencies were a viable business we knew we knew people making good money doing them but we didn't really know what the hell we were doing so basically we put up a really nice website we spent way too long thinking about the logo the website all this stuff. |
| 3:00.8 | Basically copied all the existing agency websites and offered a full suite of services of which we could probably only execute ourselves on about 10% of the rest we were just kind of guessing and figuring it out. |
| 3:17.1 | So yeah we're basically a full stack digital marketing agency doing everything from design to marketing and advertising. |
| 3:26.3 | All right so how does that company end up now we're a different hunger in the reason why I'm interviewing you because obviously you work with somebody that's close to my organization and does a great job for us and and you help them get the scale so just kind of tell us what do you do how do you help companies why you're on my show because everybody on my show helps equip encourage and educate entrepreneurs and I know your company can. |
| 3:52.0 | Yeah thank you so what we do a different hunger is different hunger is essentially it's a brand and it's a it's a more of a lifestyle brand as you know the core focus because business is great making money is great but really what I truly believe is the most important part of all that is having an amazing quality of life waking up every day. |
| 4:22.0 | And loving the life that you've created through potentially your business right and so that's what different hunger is really all about and so as part of that brand and that bigger mission we have a digital agency which is different hunger creative. |
| 4:37.6 | That's where we do services for startups for brands for for businesses we're providing lead generation and marketing services and we're also doing design projects and services for businesses so we have the agency business and then we also have our. |
| 4:57.8 | Our consulting side of the business where we're providing coaching which Leo of explore media you had mentioned you're working with him that's where we had initially he was one of our first beta clients actually and so on that side of the business we are coaching we are giving people courses and we're really just helping them implement and grow. |
| 5:23.9 | From you know solo entrepreneurs one man shows into how do we build an actual sustainable business and build out a team and build out something that will last and be bigger than yourself so yeah you help them get the scale absolutely yeah yeah no that's that's so cool so tell me this what is the one piece of startup what do you wish you would have known when you first got started that you know now. |
