A woman and child whose remains were found along Gilgo Beach on New York's Long Island have been identified as 26-year-old Army veteran Tanya Jackson and her two-year-old daughter, Tatiana Dykes.

Police say Jackson was a single mother at the time of her death, likely living in Brooklyn and working at a doctor's office.

They were never reported missing.

Jackson has long been known as

Jane Doe No. 3, or Peaches after a peach tattoo on her torso. Pieces of her body were found in

1997 at Hempstead Lake State Park. Other remains were found in 2011 near Gilgo Beach near the

remains of her daughter. Of the 10 sets of remains found in the Gilgo area, nine have now been

identified.

Rex Heurman has pleaded not guilty to killing six of those victims,

plus another woman whose remains were found years prior miles away.

Police officers now saying, though Jackson and Tatiana's murders were being investigated along with the Gilgo slayings,

they could be unrelated.
