Today we're talking about some headline news from Bob Lutz with his comments on Tesla.

Tesla stock on the day finishing up 4.93% to $299.2, pretty much making up the entire drop from Tuesday caused by the

Bloomberg Department of Justice report. This volatility is not unlike the volatility

that we saw around the privatization tweet.

So hey, maybe this can help Tesla with a legal defense against any stock price manipulation

claims if it ever did come to that, which again, I do not ever expect.

All right, so today get ready for quite a few quotes

because we are talking about the headline news from Bob Lutz

that actually came out I believe yesterday

but has continued to cycle through the news today.

I'm not sure exactly why it's getting so much attention, but it is and because it is I thought that

I would spend some time covering it today. For those of you who may not know who Bob Lutz is, he is the

former vice chairman of GM and prior to that he actually served as vice chairman

for Chrysler and prior to that was actually a vice president at Ford as well.

Lutz has a bit of a mixed history with electric vehicles.

At GM, he was a big proponent of the Chevy Volt Volt with a V,

which I think most listeners would agree was a solid step at the time

towards electric vehicles.

Lutz even said at the time, in an interview with Newsweek, quote,
