Hi I'm Toby your news. Bo Wingard, longstanding Colette contributor and assistant professor in the psychology department at Marietta College, a private liberal arts college in Ohio, lost his job this week.

Although he wasn't given a reason by the college,

he suspects it's because he's published articles

about the genetic influence on psychological differences,

including group differences, and defended the right of academics

and independent scholars to carry out research into this controversial area.

I spoke to Bo about what happened and the events leading up to it, including a harassment

campaign waged against him by a sudonomous troll.

Apologies in advance for the slightly poor sound quality. We spoke via Skype and my microphone

picked up the raindrops falling on the roof of my garden shed in West London. Tell us what's happened.

Well, after a somewhat tumultuous employment by college, I was fired last week and what was in a quote-unquote

administrative decision, and I was not told the reason why I was fired and I doubt that they will tell me because I don't think they're required to but we can get into the details about what led up to it.

It's important to note that I was indeed tenure track and in fact I was past the first year probationary period.

What do you think the cause is, the real cause is that they're not disclosing?

Right, and this is why I think people, why I think people should care and why it's a big deal to me.
