embark on their second life. Today on the show I'm speaking with designer, artist, and the co-founder of Woodward Throwbacks,

Bo Sheppard.

As a child, Bo loved cars, so... Bo She followed that passion, studying transportation design at Detroit's College for

for Creative Studies. From there, Bow worked at General Motors in their Chevy

product line where she designed car interiors. But as Bow's experience and

creativity grew, she felt like the highly structured corporate

environment was limiting to her. Not to mention the fact that she was only the

third black woman ever to work in interior design at the company.

At the same time, she began exploring the world of salvage with her partner Kyle Dubay, spending

her free time scavenging the Detroit streets for reusable

furniture and materials. Finally, she took the leap to leave GM and pursue her new

venture, a design and reclamation business called Woodward
