They was headlining.

I was back in Keith Allison, Tommy Rose, and Stephen Lameau, which a good friend of mine.

And this promoter had some albums on Bernard Purdy.

He had caught the show that night.

Come backstage and he ain't produced.

I can't remember the gentleman, but he complimented me on my playing.

And he asked me, he said, have you ever heard ofannard purdy he said he called him pretty pretty right

and i said i've heard of the name i said i've never met him so he had bernard's album sold drums

yeah right absolutely and he said i'd like for you to have a copy of this when you come off to check him out.

So I took that album, when I looked at the album, I'm gonna be frank, you know, the way Bernard

is posed on that album, I thought it was Al Jackson.

Oh yeah.

Because him and Al Jackson and Al and I just

you know we're real tight and I said wow then I said no that ain't Al and when I come up to I

played it I loved it. We were playing for a minute I I've been talking to Scott about cutting its funky donkey time.

Yeah.

That was one of my favorites that I first learned and got into Bernard Purdy.
