I'm John Batchel with my colleague, Bob Zimmerman.

He keeps the website behind the black.

We're going to the surface of the moon.

Private enterprise on the surface of the moon.

First, Athena, thump.

What happened, Bob?

Yes, intuitive machines has a private land,

privately built, a commercial lunar lander land, privately built a commercial lunar land.

This was its second attempt to land.

The first one hit the ground, too fast, sideways, broke a leg and fell over on its side.

The second one, Athena, about a week, a little over a week ago, tried to land.

We don't know why, but it fell on its side again.

Why have a picture on the black showing it on its side with the horizon in the distance.

They basically right after they got that picture, they shut the thing down.

It couldn't do anything, so they ended the mission.

Basically, it's a failure on the moon.

Even though it did soft land, it fell over.

And therefore, most of its instruments couldn't collect data and it wasn't getting enough power.

And so it ran out of power, and so they shut it down.

One of the questions is, why are these doing this twice in a row?

There could be specific examples in each case.
