So it's me Ian Doyle with our full town Liverpool reporter James Pierce and Neil Jones. and there's only one place to start and that's

the game at the Emirates James. What did you make of that?

It was a difficult game to make sense of I think sat there afterwards trying to write a piece

you know obviously the overwhelming emotion for Liverpool was a lation that getting the

season off to a flying start getting the three points and you know the

thrilling manner in which they did it made the all the more satisfying but you know you

couldn't you couldn't sit there and and say that everything was rosy because it wasn't it was an error-struing performance where for 44 and a half minutes or whatever it was you know it was a you you never just never got going really really slow start bizarre

slowly slow start really when you think you know everything the

clopred talked about in preseason about not being passive and playing on the front foot.

Yeah, they just gifted Arsenal the initiative.

But then the continuing free kick just changed everything.

You know, you could see that completely knock the wind out of Arsenal's

sales energised Liverpool and then blew Arsenal away in that opening 50 minutes

at the second half at 4-1 you know it looked like it was going be a route, but you know Arsenal came back and in the end

Liverpool held on with a little bit despair so yeah a great start but also I don't think

anyone would be kidding themselves there's a lot to work on as well.

With Neil what did you think when you saw the team sheet drop?

There were a few, maybe a few surprises there do you think?

Maybe, not really, not, not particularly. I thought Chan, do you think he played?

Yeah, maybe Chan was the one, although I think he sort of almost talked himself out of the team,
