Welcome to our Rosary meditation.

Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Let's call the mind all those we've promised to pray for,

asking for the intercession of blessed Pauline Jericho for the healing of Margot, for a successful

surgery for Olivia Canelia on September 20th,

and in a special way I'm offering this Rosary for Carrie Hillier.

Now, today, I feel rotten, and I'm not happy about it and on top of that I had to write a

meditation about the eighth beatitude. Happy are those who suffer now like Jesus was rubbing it in.

Well, I am suffering a little and I am not happy about it.

So how could Jesus tell us that it's blessed to suffer?

How could suffering make us happy? Well, let's begin with two good reasons. First, suffering can be good for us because

it can empty us of our pride, which is our self-reliance,

and our disordered loves, making room in our soul

to be filled by God.

And suffering can increase our faith, hope, and love, which is our capacity to receive even more of a share in God's divine life.

And secondly, our suffering can help others because Jesus is inviting us to share in

his rescue mission. He's inviting us to help him save souls through our suffering. All we need to do is stop

resisting it, learn to accept it, and offer it up. To offer up what you did not choose do not like and cannot change. So don't waste

your suffering. Souls are depending on you.
