So welcome to our Rosary meditation.

Once again, I'm blessed this evening to be praying

with all of these people who have committed to grow in their friendship with Jesus,

but even more to be committed to help others grow in friendship with Jesus through prayer.

And we want to pray in a special way this evening

for one woman who is supposed to be in the mentorship program this week but was unable for health

purposes and we offer this rosary for her for Joan Enright in North Dakota.

So let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the

Holy Spirit. Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for. Today we're

meditating on the third beatitude. Blessed are they who mourn. Now we learn

from the prodigal son what it means to mourn. Remember it's the story of a son who had everything one could ask but thought he could

not be happy doing the will of his father so he asks for his inheritance before his father's death,

wishing his father were dead, and then turns to a life of sin in search of false

happiness.

Luke Chapter 15.

A few days later, the younger son got together

everything he had and left for a distant country where he squandered his money on a life of debauchery

When he had spent it all that country experienced a severe famine,

and now he began to feel the pinch.

So he hired himself out to one of the local inhabitants

who put him on his farm to feed the pigs. And he would willingly have filled his belly with the husks the pigs were eating
