I did something this week that I feel like literature has told us it's fun.

I'm dying to know what it is.

And some aspects of it were fun, and maybe it's fun for young people, but I'm too old for, wait for it, picnicking.

I have been on conservatively 30,000 picnics in my life.

And I'm done.

I cannot sit on the ground with no back support for that long. It hurts. I don't know who the PR manager is for Big Picnic. Uh-huh. But they have conned all of us into thinking that eating in an outdoor setting is pleasant. Some place where the bugs can also get to your food. Yeah. You know what they have? Because also live in New York City so there's like when we're picnicking, we're picnicking in a park filled with raccoons and squirrels and pigeons. This is not the bucolic setting no. That of of your Jane Austen novels. This is not Gwyneth Paltrow and Tony Collette under a tent in Emma. No, yeah, there's no, there are no pillows. There are no servants serving us cold meat.

It's, it's pasta salad that someone brought from home that's kind of warm and gross and rabid animals everywhere.

I hate them. And I actually, a couple of years ago, someone invited me on like a Fourth of July picnic and I was like, I will come to the park. Absolutely, I'll come to the park. You don't feed me. Don't bring me any food. I don't want any and I'm not participating. I'm not bringing potluck. I will not be doing this. I will not be participating in the food aspect of this occasion because I'm done. I'm no longer a picnic person.
