Black Thought is one of the greatest MCs of all time period.

And I've known him since before his first album.

I met the roots in the summer of 92 in Philly

when they were a four-piece band called The Square Roots and that summer

they were playing on street corners in Philly and building their chops and you

could tell even then that Blackthaw it was going to be a beast. He was then an incredible

rapper and he was constantly working at his craft. There was no plan B for him, but how could

there be? He's a generational talent. He's a lyrical monster. His

flows are smooth. He's brilliant. He's an unabashedly intelligent streetwise

super rapper with an incredible sounding voice.

The depth of his tones can make anything sound great.

And the man is dedicated to his craft and dedicated to the culture.

He's an MC who has helped push the culture forward

and he wants modern MCs to raise the bar

as Combat Jack would say.
