Hey everyone.

Before we start today's show, I want to take a moment to sit with what happened this week.

On Tuesday, March 16th, a man went on a rampage at three spas in the Atlanta area, killing eight people.

Six of whom were women of Asian descent. Those victims include Sunchung Park,

Hien Chung Grant, Suncha Kim, Young A Yu, Shaw Jay Tan, Dow Yau Fung, Delana Ashley Yon, and Paul Andre Michelle.

You know, there's been a lot of discussion around why this person pit this.

A lot of curiosity about his motivations, his impulses, his intentions. You

hear questions like, what was the root cause of his violence? What drove him to this?

And I like to present a different question, which is, why do we care?

Does it matter why he did it?

Is there any discoverable reason that will justify his behavior.

White supremacy, racism, sex addiction, mental illness, what most of these mass shooters have in common is that they are often young white men.

And until young white men are forced to interrogate what it means to be a young white man. This will continue.

And we know this interrogation is not happening,

because every time there is a mass shooting,

the media goes,

why did he do it?

What could possibly compel him to do such a thing? In this country, we've been led to believe they, by simply being young, white men, are doing something right. They are afforded innocence in a country

that renders just about everyone else a threat. But make no mistake, they are the threat. They were a threat at the

school in Sandy Hook at a Walmart in El Paso at a movie theater in Aurora and now this week at three spas in Georgia.
