Summary

In the first part of this Feature, Alex French, Founder & CEO of Bizzy Coffee, says it best when he describes his company as “Bizzy Coffee” is cold brew “for busy people.” Whether it’s a busy work schedule or in French’s case training for the Iron Man while maintaining a full-time job, cold brew shouldn’t take up most of your time nor should you be paying $5 a cup every day before you head to work. Bizzy Coffee gives busy people a solution when it comes to controlling your schedule while staying energized. Alex French, Co-Founder of Bizzy Coffee, comes onto the show today to share with us his story of creating Bizzy Coffee while also giving us some insight into the mentality of first-time entrepreneurs.

In the first part, Alex discusses His background; The start of Bizzy Coffee; Past ventures and busy schedules; Why you should always use the help of others who have lived through your experiences; Creating a product based on your personal experience; And so much more.

Join us while Ramon Vela interviews Alex in Part 1 of this episode and listen to him share the inside story of a brand.

You know, it was probably the toughest decision we ever made because Andrew and I both really enjoyed our careers.

0:29.3

You know, I was doing venture capital in the food industry, which is so cool.

0:33.6

And Andrew was doing research and development engineering in the medical device industry. So we both

0:38.5

had really good jobs and we were kind of on a pretty good trajectory from a career standpoint.

0:44.2

But at least from my perspective, everyone that knew me knew, like I'm an entrepreneur through

0:50.2

and through. It's just who I am. It's my personality. And I think everyone was excited that

0:55.1

we got in. But I, you know, the people that were closest to me certainly were kind of thinking,

1:00.1

like, what the hell are you doing? Like, you have this sweet job and you're going to go do what?

1:05.9

So, you know, I'd say that there was definitely a little bit of like, why are you doing it? But

1:10.4

nobody really said, like, you are you doing it? But nobody really

1:11.9

said like, you're throwing your life away. And, you know, I think it certainly helped, at least

1:17.2

for us to make the decision and then to kind of justify it to our support group is like, hey,

1:22.3

these people are investing money. And it's not like we're just quitting our jobs to live on the street.

1:27.7

You know, we got into this kind of semi-prominent accelerator and they gave us a million

1:33.4

dollar valuation.

1:35.5

And, you know, it felt pretty good to be able to say that, but it was a very, very difficult

1:41.0

decision.

1:41.5

And Andrew and I basically had to make it in about 24 hours if we were going to do it or not.

1:46.0

So it was tough, but I think we looked at it like the regret of not doing it was felt worse than the regret of doing it and failing.
