Welcome back to the Lantern Rouge Cycling Podcast with Benji Nyson. I thought we were going to have

0:05.2

a rest day today. We've got 48 days straight of World Tour Racing commencing tomorrow, but I just

0:11.5

couldn't keep away from Benji and I thought you might want to hear a Bing Bank Tour preview and

0:16.6

I'll just discuss briefly the transfer news, particularly the in-yourst transfer news that I think

0:22.0

was last week. I'm not sure we really touched on it in detail yet, but yeah, the Bing Bank Tour,

0:27.5

one that's a race that I really like and a race that's going past, I think your house tomorrow, Benji.

0:33.2

Yes, for sure. And I'm kind of looking forward to it every year because it's a stage race that

0:38.4

doesn't really align with all the other stage race. So you've got Paranise that doesn't have

0:42.0

couples obviously. You've got Tirana who's focused more on the one mountain stage hills and then

0:48.4

the time trial and the actual sprints as well because it's got some good sprint stages usually.

0:53.5

And there's no real stage race in World Tour that I focus on having some couple races as well.

0:59.9

It was the Benelux Tour in the past I think. Then it changed to the Enneco Tour. Now we're at the

1:05.4

Bing Bank Tour, so it has had a lot of names, but I'm looking forward to it every single year.

1:11.4

Although I do have the feeling that this year it's in a better position. If I recall correctly,

1:17.3

it's more towards the end of the season usually just before or during the Volta. I'm not even

1:22.6

sure what it is. I think just before the Volta or just after it. Anyway, not that important.

1:28.3

This year it's just before the Giro and therefore some riders that are going to the Giro

1:33.9

can't contend here. That comes with the likes of the person we spoke about in the time trial

1:39.6

earlier in the World Championships, Philippe Ogana. We hope that he would try a Bing Bank Tour.

1:44.5

He was on the start list of both the Bing Bank and the Giro because they're happening at the same

1:48.8

time that's obviously impossible. Yeah, he's doing Giro. Always interesting to read out. The list

1:53.8

of riders who've won this race previously and that's almost just as informative for what sort of
