I'm Fernkotton and today I'm chatting to drag queen Bimini Bon Boulache.

I tried my hardest to do the things that were kind of societal expectations of me and

it just made me feel so unhappy and when I started living for myself and kind of rejecting

those ideas that's when I found happiness within myself and that's what ultimately we want

to strive for we want to be happy within because then that radiates to other people and you

can then be open and loving and accepting of everyone.

Bimini was catapulted into the public conscience as a contestant on series two of RuPaul's Drag Race

UK.

They're with the iconic fashion moments, the self deprecating vegan gags and some incredible

death drops of course but it was their warm and humble conversation about being non-binary

with fellow queen Ginny Lemmon that cemented their position in the nation's hearts.

Bimini was living their best book tour life in a Liverpool hotel room when we connected up last week.

They've been travelling the country with their new book Release the Beast which they wrote in the

hope that others will come to find the confidence to shake off restrictive societal norms too.
