Hello, Wendy. Well, good morning to you, William. How are you? I'm actually, I know what's wrong

with you. I know you're sad. I am very sad. Do you know the reason? Yes, the death in the news.

You know, not just the death, but honestly, one of the giants of show business, one of the premier geniuses of comedy, Carl Reiner died last night at the age of 98.

It's the first thing I saw this morning.

I turned on the computer just to get a little brief outlook of what's going on in the news and saw that right away.

And boy, is it sad. It really is.

I mean, 98, and I had heard he was doing quite well pretty much until the very end.

I know your thoughts on that would be, come on, Carl, two more years. Yeah, get to 100 if you can.

He checked out a little earlier than he should have, but the New York Times referred to him as a

multifaceted master of comedy, and you can't argue that point.

He was all those things.

He was multifaceted, certainly.

If somebody said to me, name five guys that are masters of comedy, Carl Reiner's

name would be way up atop of that list.

Where do you start with him?

I guess most people know him from the very beginning.

He was a writer on your show of shows, which was the Saturday Night Live of its day.

It had an all-star cast of writers that included Carl Reiner, Mel Brooks, Neil Simon, Woody Allen,

just like one of the premier comedy shows of all time.

And honestly, without it, we wouldn't have Saturday Night Live.

It was the forerunner of SNL.
