From KCRW, I'm Kim Masters, and this is the business. In July, three former high-level Fox executives

issued a statement expressing regret that they had helped Rupert Murdoch launch a fourth broadcast

network in the 1990s. They were never involved with Fox News, but felt they had helped lay the

groundwork for what they call a disinformation machine.

Political commentator Bill Crystal has joined the former Fox executives in asking the federal

government to consider whether to renew the license of a Fox-owned Philadelphia station.

Crystal was a Fox News commentator for 10 years until 2013, so I asked him if he shares that same remorse.

I feel sort of bad that I was a little part of its rise to Providence and also giving

it respectability, if I can put it that way. But I also think 95% of the panels I was on,

I were fine. We didn't go down conspiracy, rabbit holes. He says times have changed. Bill

And even that date is, we don't know.

As we're speaking, there's a meeting between the AMPTP and the Writers Guild scheduled for a time which will not make it possible for us to know exactly what happens.

We don't expect instant solution by any means.

But the Emmys are now pushed to January 15th.
