It's all kicking off in the bike lanes this morning, not because Boris Johnson has taken to two wheels again,

but because the government has decided to investigate whether to change the law to take account of dangerous cycling.

Predictively, the bike fascists are all over it, claiming victimisation and blaming the Tories for being heartless.

But surely it makes sense to

protect pedestrians from dangerous cycling just as much as it does to protect cyclists from

dangerous drivers. Surely, that is where we need to go here. But regulation, I think, is the

answer. We need licences. We need insurance and we need a proper code of conduct for cyclists and

the ability for them to be booked when they do something wrong. 03444-49-1,000.

Let's go even further and say banned cyclists if they persistently behave badly on the road.

Let's talk to Roger Geffen, because a big story in the papers today, and I imagine this will rumble on for a while as well, is the fact that the Tories have come up with an idea, which seems to me to be perfectly sensible, to bring in a law that may change the 100-year-old plus law about the dangers of cycling on the roads.

In the same way that the dangers of car driving on the roads is monitored and legislated

for why not have a dangerous cycling law as well let's talk to roger and find out whether he agrees roger
