Hello, I'm Bex and welcome to the Week Junior show. Now this episode is an extra special one.

It's the final podcast of the year and we're going to be doing a roundup of our favourite stories from 2024. We've also got a few messages from readers to share their favourite stories from the year as well. Now, the Week Junior team has very kindly invited me to their Christmas party this year, and I can see a few members of the team snacking on some minced pies. So we've got Anna, Vanessa, Elena,

Kate and Eve. I'm going to be catching up with all of them, don't you worry about that?

And it's very nice to have you all here together after doing so many podcast episodes with you

through the year. And speaking of snacking on minced pies, I want to know what are your favourite foods

to have at Christmas? Anna, what's your go-to Christmas classic?

My go-to Christmas classic is fudge and it has to be homemade. And my mum used to make it. When I was a kid, we always used to make it for our friends and relatives and give it to rain pretty little boxes. So I try to make it every year as well with my children. Unfortunately, it doesn't actually ever work quite as well as my mum's fudge did.

It never really sets. It's always a big sort of sloppy, sticky mess in a tray. But that doesn't

stop me tucking into it. We all get in there with our spoons and fill ourselves up until we feel

slightly thick. And I'm going to do it all over again this weekend. Oh, I love that. It's still tasty though, right? Even if it's a bit of a different consistency. Oh, it doesn't matter what consistency it is. It's condensed milk and sugar. It's

amazing. What could go wrong? Oh my goodness. I just want to eat some fudge now. But Elena,

how about you? What would you go to for Christmas? Well, in Spain, my family always has

roast duck for dinner, which I really enjoy. But actually, I think

the UK is simply superior in terms of Christmas food. And this year, I have tried Christmas

stuffing for the first time in my life. And I think it's become not my favorite Christmas food,

but my favorite food ever. I think it's just wonderful. I think I had a vegan version with vegan sausages and sage and parsley and more things that my friend put in it. I thought it was delicious.

I love a Christmas stuffing convert. Of all the foods I thought you're going to say, Elena, stuffing was not one of them.
