What's up everyone? Welcome back to the Epic Gardening podcast. Today I have recruited

the garden hermit himself, Jacques. He's back on the show. Live in the studio. Yeah. Live

in the studio, aka the spare bedroom of my home, which is very sloppy right now, much like

the garden. So we're talking about kind of our biggest fails this year. And I had a lot

of fails. Do you have a lot of fails? I had a handful of fails for sure. Well, just a handful.

Yeah. I had a lot of fails and you helped me. So I think that says something about it.

I'm scared of the other. I think you might have sabotaged the garden now. So this year in

my space at least was a year of, okay, how quickly can we get a garden off the ground?

And then also let's just grow almost everything we can think of growing and just see what works

and doesn't work. Obviously you're not trying to let something fail, but nevertheless

some things did struggle. What about you at your place? Yeah, I actually say that that

kind of tags into one of my fails for this year was way too much variety. And I decided

to just try going like 16 or 18 different varieties of tomatoes. And that didn't really

work out that well. I ended up packing things too tight to try to make it work. And in

the end, like, honestly, like half of them just barely produced three or four of them,

like the Mexico-Midget variety. Just we thought tasted awful. And Jacques grows for flavor.

So if it grows well, but it tastes bad, it's still a fail. Yeah, it's just not worth

it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I did, as you know, I did something similar where I think

we had, we probably peaked it about 16 tomato varieties between containers and the big

row in the back. And then upwards of 60 peppers. So in the big bed in the back, the in ground

bed was roughly 40-ish to 45. And there was another about 20-25 in the container. So
