How do you start a seed company?

We obviously all buy seeds.

It's sort of a ritual in the gardening world to get your catalogs and winter.

You pick it out.

You get really excited.

They come to the door.

You start them.

It's part of the whole process.

As you know, we've been talking to Richard Cannell, who is the owner of a seed company.

Small island seed company where they do rare and unusual cold hardy vegetables and herbs.

Richard, I think both business owners here, it's cool to hear about someone doing something

different in the world of plants, of course, to myself and making a living doing it and

having a lot of fun.

I think people want to peer into that life a little bit.

It's, I'm curious, how did this start for you?

What's the sort of trajectory that land did you where you are today?

I'd say that two things of equal magnitude is that, A, I was given the opportunity to

purchase a piece of land, just a home actually.

This is not a big place.

I'm a quarter acre farm and that includes my dwelling and the greenhouse in some even

unused space.
