Hi folks and welcome to the Meaningful Money Podcast this is season 27 episode 1.

Yep, welcome back to yet another new season. I mean for money, great to have you with us.

Welcome back also to my partner in crime, everyone's favorite Grandad, Mr Roger Weeks.

Thanks for reminding me of my age, Pete.

Although mentally I think I'm still in my early 20s, maybe possibly my late teens.

You still act like that?

Yeah, I do, yeah.

And despite having a seven-year-old grandson,

when somebody says hello Granddad,

I still imagine they're talking to my dad who's standing behind me.

I still think they can't be talking about me.

No.

Yeah, I'm afraid so.

Mentally, I'm still very, very young.

Physically not so.

Not so much.

But today, in our new season, we kick off

with what we're calling big ideas.

Yeah, the thinking is that we'll sort of deal with some of the big overarching principles of personal finance, right?

So the stuff that sort of stands true no matter what's going on in the short term or whatever these are the sort of timeless

of personal finance if you like but of course we'll try and show you how to put

them into practice as well. Things like time in the market not timing the market.
