Summary

A while back I was contacted by a Womens big book study group that records their meetings and they asked if I was interested in using them on the podcast, my answer was a very definite yes. This is the first one of those recordings (there will be more) and its on the chapter, To Wives. This is a part of the book that doesnt get a lot of love for various reasons, I was really happy to see this was one of the topics covered by this group and thought it a great first podcast, it is presented by Kate and Kate. There is a slight buzz in this recording that I could not remove, its not really prominent however it is noticeable but not so annoying that it precluded using it. 0:36.9	I wanted to because in meetings I often hear comments about this chapter and I'm very
0:47.1	interested in literature and history and so I wanted to use it as an opportunity to do some
0:54.1	online research about this chapter and learn more about why this chapter is in the current
1:02.9	edition of the big book.
1:06.1	So I primarily use Google and when I started googling for information I found pretty much
1:17.8	not much of anything actually compared to what I could find, say, Bill's story or the
1:25.0	doctor's opinion, which there's a lot of history.
1:29.2	So I did find a few sources and as I read the chapter and followed along with some of
1:38.1	the things I was finding online, I noticed that I started becoming rather resentful.
1:46.7	I thought, wow, I've been exposed to this chapter many times and it didn't really affect
1:55.3	me the way it had when I started really digging into it.
2:02.1	Something I did learn is that it's noted that Bill W. wrote the chapter.
2:10.7	He did ask and Dr. Bob's wife to write the chapter however she declined and Lois, Bill's
2:19.2	wife, wanted to write the chapter but he wouldn't let her hold.
2:24.1	So I started getting even a little more resentful when the chapter starts on page 104 and the
