Summary
The Lakers fell to 0-5 in the preseason after losing to the Warriors on Tuesday night, but all was not lost as we got our first glimpse at how the LeBron, Russell Westbrook, and Anthony Davis trio looks on the court together. Pete, Mike, and Darius discuss their takeaways from those first minutes together, particularly the ramped up pace they played with offensively and some of the team's defensive challenges. Later, the guys discuss Carmelo Anthony's defense, offer some praise for Austin Reaves, and get into who the ideal 5th starter would be for them.

| 0:36.4 | fans welcome to laker film room podcast brought you by the blue Wire Podcast Network. I'm Pete, joined by Darius and Mike. And last night, the Big Three debuted, not to the result that we were hoping for, but it was, for me, the most informative game of the preseason, really get a good sense of the style of play that we're trying to play. And there's a lot to talk |
| 0:55.7 | about. But one thing I wanted to bring up first, because I'm going to keep referring back to this, |
| 1:00.0 | not just in this pod, but in future pods. And it really informs kind of our style of play. |
| 1:04.3 | So the first play of the game, you know, Russ trips, Mello ends up drawing three free throws. |
| 1:10.4 | We go up three nothing. Next time down, Andrew Wiggins hits a jumper, a well-contested mid-range jumper. LeBron was on him. And so we're, this is after a miss, guys. And we advanced the ball of court, and I just happened to pause it at right as we were crossing half court. And there were 22 seconds left on the shot |
| 1:28.6 | clock. And four of our guys were cross half court after the 22 second mark. And so I had thought, |
| 1:36.8 | in the first time watching it, like we played at a really crazy pace in this game. So I'm going to |
| 1:41.8 | chart all of the starting lineup at least, because this was the |
| 1:44.3 | first time we saw AD at the 5, how long it takes for them to get across half court? So we had 46 |
| 1:50.7 | possessions where we had 46 possessions total with LeBron, AD, and Russ on the floor. Of those, |
| 1:59.1 | how many of you guys would, or how many would you guys guess would we have crossed |
| 2:02.7 | half court with 20 seconds or more left on the shot clock? |
| 2:06.2 | Out of those 46. |
| 2:07.7 | Half? |
