Well today the US stock market finally had an opportunity to react to the much stronger

than expected non-farm payroll number that was released on Good Friday and the Dow Jones

surged into record territory up 373.98, almost 374 points.

It's a new record we closed at 33,527.19, that's a record closed the intraday record

high 33,617.95, the S&P 500 also hitting a new all time record up just under one and a

half percent it closed at 477 spot 9.1, its intraday high new record 483 spot 42, the

NASDAQ composite not a record but the biggest gainer on the day up 225.1, 1.67%, we settled

just about 13,705.

But you know the biggest loser, although not a loser, just the smallest gainer on the

day, was the Russell 2000.

Now when I originally talked about how the futures markets were reacting to Friday's

non-farm payroll number, it was the small cap stocks, the Russell 2000 futures that were

up the most but that gain quickly faded early this morning and so this ended up being the

weakest segment of the market and again the Russell 2000 would be the index that best

captures the domestic economy and that was the index that was the weakest.

So again to me this is more about multinationals at about stronger economies overseas than it
