There were those who thought Joe Biden's State of the Union address might be weakly delivered,

sounding tentative, proving what his critics say that this is a man who's already too old for the job, let alone

in a state to hold office for another four years. Well, Mr. Biden came out fighting, no prelimaries, no niceties to sugar the speech.

Instead he launched a direct attack on the man

almost certain to be his opponent in the forthcoming election.
