On Tuesday, the Pentagon announced that the U.S.-built pier that had been set up supposedly

to deliver humanitarian aid

to Gaza had become inoperable due to damage from heavy seas. And with the suspension of this

pier, the closing of the rafa crossing, humanitarian officials are warning of a collapse,

essentially, in the enclave where people are already in a very treacherous state. On top of the urgency

of this situation, the recent Israeli strike on tent camps in Rafah that was targeting Hamas

officials but also killed a number of civilians, has added international scrutiny to what

had already been scrutiny of U.S. support for Israel. There's new estimation from Israeli officials that this campaign is going on through the end of the year.

So how is the Biden administration looking to deal with all of these challenges?
