Hello and welcome to the Byron York Show, the No-Chit Chat Podcast. We like to get right into it,

and what we're going to get into today is, well, we're going to briefly interrupt our

obsessive coverage of the Trump Mar-a-Lago raid to bring you more about those 87,000 IRS age.

And now, what we're going to talk about is Joe Biden and the Biden administration are promising

a miracle that they will not, absolutely will not use the beefed-up IRS against you.

Now, you know that a lot of Republicans and conservatives have loudly protested the democratic plan

to vastly expand the internal revenue service, especially its enforcement arm,

with an infusion of $80 billion included in the misleadingly named inflation reduction act.

The $80 billion by many account is far more than the IRS needs. You know, the other day,

we were talking about John Caskinan, the former IRS director under President Obama and Trump,

who loudly complained past that the IRS was underfunded, needed more money.

It was asked last year why much does it need? He said about 25 billion over 10 years. Now,

Democrats are going to give the IRS $80 billion three times and a little more than that.

And he's worried, because that's too much money. Okay, so the $80 billion, many account,

is more than the IRS needs. Republicans are suspicious about how it will be spent.

Last year, the Treasury Department said the money would be used. Remember, this was part of

the build-back better plan, too. Treasury Department did a study of the bill

that it could be used, would be used, to hire 86,852 new IRS employees in the next 10 years.
