A new book about former president Joe Biden is rattling Democrats.

Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories.

Original Sin is a new book from CNN anchor Jake Tapper and Axios reporter Alexe Thompson.

The authors describe the former president's physical and cognitive decline over the course of his presidency, and the efforts of loyalists

and family members to shield the diminished president from full public view. The book contains

many claims about Biden's health. At one point, Tapper and Thompson write that AIDS were

reportedly considering using a wheelchair to transport Biden if he won a second term.

And the authors make the argument that Biden's decline was the sole defining reason for Trump's victory in 2024.

The book comes as a growing number of Democrats are publicly second-guessing their party's handling of the last election.

The issue's re-emergence makes it likely that any Democratic presidential hopeful in

2008 will be challenged on how they viewed Biden in 2024 and what they said about it.
