Hello, and welcome to another edition of the Byron York Show, the No-Chit Chat Podcast.

We'd like to get right into it, and what we're going to get into today is Joe Biden

barging in to the rather delicate negotiations over guns in the U.S. Senate.

So it's Biden barges in.

You know, there's something remarkable about the gun debate that has arisen in the aftermath

of the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.

Compared to years past, the argument on Capitol Hill is actually somewhat muted.

Now yes, members of the House of Representatives are yelling at each other.

You may have seen clips from this judiciary committee, House Judiciary Committee meeting

where they all just yelled at each other.

But that, I mean, that's nothing really unusual.

But in the Senate, where the real work on a gun deal, if there is such a thing, where

the real work is going on, the talk is quiet, and the anticipation level is low, at least.

That's what it was until Joe Biden jumped into it.

You know, the President gave a speech on Thursday night before the President's speech for last

week or two.

The mood in the Senate had been managed expectations.

That was the idea.

We're not going to swing with the fences.

We're not going to hit a home run because we can't hit a home run.

We're going to try to do something less.
