All right, good morning and welcome to our Bible prophecy update. On Sunday mornings, we have two

0:06.0

services, the first of which is our weekly Bible prophecy update, and then second service is the

0:11.7

sermon. It's a verse by verse study through the Word of God. We're currently in the book of Hebrews,

0:17.2

and today we're going to answer from the text chapter 11 verses 1 through 3 the

0:25.7

question of do I really have faith and the way we're going to answer that question is by

0:34.4

first explaining what faith is, what faith does, and what faith has in terms of its application

0:47.2

to our lives. And that will be live streamed at 1115 AM, Hawaii time. We would encourage you to join with us at that time. But we need to get

0:58.0

right to it. Got a lot to get to today. So for today's update, once again, I'm going to borrow

1:07.8

from yet another well-known idiom. This time it's that of one not seeing

1:17.1

the forest for the trees. You've heard this one, you've used this one. Not seeing the forest for the trees means that one cannot see the big picture of the forest

1:34.3

because they're too focused on what's right in front of them, namely the tree.

1:43.3

If you'll kindly allow me to, I'd like to talk with you about

1:48.2

this idiom, and I want to do so from a prophetic perspective related to everything that is happening

1:57.9

today. I want to start by defining the tree. The tree is that

2:06.6

which we are faced with and focused on, specifically the intensifying mandates and increasing restrictions.

2:23.1

As for the forest, or if you prefer big picture, that can be defined as that which is not yet

2:33.3

clearly in focus by virtue of its unseen, vast expanse just over the horizon.

2:45.0

In other words, the tree represents what we see in the here and now, whereas the forest represents what we don't see

3:00.1

beyond and after. Now we have a problem, and that problem is that we get so caught up in the tree that's in front

3:15.5

of us in the here and now, and in so doing, we lose perspective and are really blinded to the entirety of the forest

3:31.0

ahead.

3:33.0

There is a solution to this problem.
