So glad you're here with us tonight. Those of you online, whatever time zone you're in,

we're also glad that you're joining with us as well.

I have the gift of putting people to sleep, so nighty night.

Let's get right to it, looking forward to Genesis chapter five as we make our trek through

the Bible. We started back in Genesis book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by

verse on Thursday nights. And last time we were in Genesis was 20 years ago. And I'm still

not going to tell you how long it took us to get through the Book of Genesis that time.

But we're entering into a very interesting portion of the Book of Genesis that is actually going to span approximately 1,600 years this chapter and the subsequent chapter.

Actually it might be four, five, five, six. We'll just call that close enough. So, but we're going to cover some ground.

Tonight is going to be a setup for what we're going to see next week in chapter six. Oh,

wow. That's all you're getting out of me. I'm not going to tell you any more about it.

Maybe just a little bit, but I'll wait till we get further into chapter five.

So, chapter five is one of those chapters that, if we're honest with ourselves, we'd have to admit we're all prone to read fast and

pass, assuming we even read it at all.

And the reason is, is that all of the names, the begats, the begat, begat, begat, begat,

and it's just the genealogical record.

Certainly, there's nothing.

Nobody has their life verse on their wallpaper, keychain, license plate frame, bumper

or whatever you put them on these days.

I'm sure out of Genesis chapter 5, you know, it's a genealogy. You know what's sad.
