with alcohol? Like, where did it all, where did it all start for you? Yes. Well, it's interesting. I grew up in a

small town in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, and for me, it was

interesting that drinking was normalized so much socially. My parents both drank, but I never

saw either one of them drunk ever. It was just, you know, campingings always had the black Russians going in the background.

And I think what I learned was there was that socializing and drinking went hand to hand.

And my parents were very social and I never saw a problem with it. And even with our, in our family,

I didn't realize that my dad's parents were, quote,

alcoholics and had drinking problems because my parents said to them at an early age,

if you ever drink, you can't come around the kids. And nobody ever told us. So I hadn't

really seen alcohol as a danger.

You know, small town, you're experimenting in public school.

When I got to grade nine, I didn't even kind of like alcohol that much.

You know, back in the 80s, alcohol, if you didn't like beer, you were kind of stuck with, you know, hard liquor in a mix.

It wasn't that portable.

But then once I hit high school, I started dating an older guy.

So that introduced me to the older world of alcohol.

He was almost drinking age.

And then all of a sudden, alcohol became a lot more tasty and portable when coolers came about.
