Mark 3 will begin reading at verse 20 and read down through verse 30.

Mark 3, 20 to 30.

And the crowd came together again so that they could not even eat.

And when his family heard it, they went out to seize him, for people were saying,

he's beside himself.

And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said he is possessed by

Beelzable and by the prince of demons he casts out the demons and he called them to him and he said to them in parables,

How can Satan cast out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

And if a house is divided against itself that house will not be able to stand.

And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand but is coming to an end.

But no one can enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods unless he first binds the

strong man, then indeed he may plunder his house.

Truly I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men and whatever blasphemes they utter. But whoever blasphemes against

the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin, for they had said he has an unclean spirit.

I'd like to ask three questions of this text with you and try to answer them briefly this morning.

Number one, is there really an unforgivable sin?

And number two, if so, what is it? And number three, in view of it, how should we then live?

Question number one, is there really an unforgivable sin verse 29

whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an

eternal sin. Let's make three observations on that verse. One, God's forgiveness is in view, not man's. It's God with whom

we have to do here. The sweetest news in all the world is to hear that God no longer holds your sins against you.

And the most terrifying news in the world is to hear God say, I will never forgive you.
