Hey, I'm Brian Hyatt, and this is Rolling Stone music now.

We're going to talk about Beyonce once again.

Because her new album, Renaissance, with its many musical triumphs,

and surprisingly many controversies, has really dominated music discourse for the past couple of weeks.

First of all I'm going to talk to the producer hip boy.

He worked on the song Thick on Renaissance and he's done a lot of great work with Beyonce in the past he also worked with Jay Z and

Kanya with Drake with Kendrick Lamar with Rihanna with Lil Wayne he produced the nipsy

hustle and Roddy Rich song Racks in the middle.

Hit Boy is also a rapper.

He has a new song called Fireproof coming out on the 19th.

After that I'm going to talk with Jeffy Hasey about some of the controversies surrounding the Beyonce album.

There really are a ton of them, including the post-release of

alteration of two songs, which raises some really interesting issues.

And then, I'm going to welcome back Monka Percante to dig into the actual music and message of the album.

So thick is one of my favorite songs on Renaissance. Maybe you can take us through the creation

of that particular song.

Man, it's crazy because I did some sessions with her.

Oh man, like 2014, I think we actually start working 2012 or 2013.

But I did some sessions with her around 2014 and I actually make the beat for

Nicki Manage and Beyoncé, feeling myself the same day I make the thick beat.
