Hi, this is Yuri, back with the best of Radiotopia 2024.

The West Wing came out when I was in college, and because it was such a huge show in this very formative stage in my life,

I think it instilled in me a streak of

idealism that has directly led to the work I do at Radiotopia. If you somehow miss this

pop culture phenomenon, the West Wing was the somewhat utopian depiction of the inner workings of government.

And in my own way, I'm trying to recreate that setting of super smart, imperfect, but kind people doing important work,

except in our case, we make podcasts about popcorn and gossip and diarrhea fries.

The American president was a great choice to kick off this quasi reboot of the West Wing Weekly.

Many of you probably know this already, but this movie ended up being kind of a prototype for the West Wing, the TV show,

aka the Sorkin Political

Universe.

I also just really love this movie.

Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure I took French in college because Sidney

Ellen Wade spoke French to the ambassador and save the, you know what, I'm here to intro the

rewatch podcast, not make my own rewatch podcast. So without further rambling from me,
