That was the year, of course, that the Colts, and I remember vividly the trade,

Andre Reisen, Chris Henton, and a future number one, I believe it was, to Atlanta for the number one

overall pick of the 1990 NFL draft, which had, of course, been cemented as Jeff George after his workout.

When he, as rumor has it, at the end of his workout,

he threw an 80-yard pass in his letter jacket.

And Jim Mersey said, that's it.

We're making you the number one overall pick in the draft. And so you knew going into it, as Jeff George did, what that was going to be.

And so he is one of 90 men, I believe it is, 90, that knows that feeling of being the number

one overall pick in the NFL draft. Tomorrow night, Fernando Mendoza of Indiana will presumably hear his name called as the top

selection in the draft to the Las Vegas Raiders.

And so that means tonight he is going to go to bed under the assumption and the anticipation

of all of that.
